Skin Tag Removal

First things first…Happy Valentines day!

While driving to the grocery store today I was listening to The People’s Pharmacy, a radio show on NPR. They were talking about the removal of skin tags and how some people have had success getting rid of them. Their suggestion was to try covering the tag with Liquid Band-Aid for a week or two.

One of the listeners had written in saying they had used this method to remove two skin tags. The first one was a small skin tag and it took about a week to get rid of. The second, they said, was a larger skin tag and took a little over two weeks to drop off.

Another method of removal that they mentioned was to tie a piece of dental floss or thread around it until it fell off. I don’t think I’d try that one. Can you imagine if someone decided to be helpful and pull the thread off of you while you walked by? Ouch!

Speaking of ouch, I remember my dad had a group of skin tags on the back of his neck once. He found them when trimming the hair on his neck. Well he didn’t realize what they were and thought it was just some hair….so he proceeded to shave them off. That was a mistake I don’t think he will be repeating any time soon! And needless to say I do not recommend that removal method at all.
